What is a "calorie conscious" protein snack?

Which foods provide a lot of protein and at the same time as few calories as possible?Protein is found in many different foods such as dairy products, meat and fish, as well as in plant-based foods such as soy products and nuts. And of course, in protein shakes and bars. But have you ever wondered what else is in food besides protein and how much calories are contained?
In addition to protein, high-protein snacks and processed foods may contain fat and/or sugar. Some are also high in calories. The best sources of protein for a calorie-conscious diet are those that are rich in high-quality protein and low in sugars and calories.
As an example of the relation between protein, sugar and calories: a portion of the chocolate milkshake flavor of Premier Protein 100% Whey (mixed with 250ml water) contains 25g protein and an average of just 132 calories and 1,8g sugar. In contrast, 250ml of chocolate milk contains only approx. 8,8g protein. To consume 25g of protein from chocolate milk you would have to drink approximately 700ml of chocolate milk RTD (ready to drink) – however at the same time it contains an average of 507 calories and 73,9g of sugar, that means almost four times more calories and 41 times the amount of sugar as compared to the Premier Protein shake.
